Enough politics. Here's some fun stuff (...with a little politics...):
So why should we believe this story, merely because it's the truth? - 3/25/06

(CNN) "Budget constraints are forcing some FBI agents to operate without e-mail accounts, according to the agency's top official in New York.
"As ridiculous as this might sound, we have real money issues right now, and the government is reluctant to give all agents and analysts dot-gov accounts," Mark Mershon said when asked about the gap at a New York Daily News editorial board meeting.
"We just don't have the money, and that is an endless stream of complaints that come from the field," he said."

He
wasn't out to enrich himself. His many crimes were part of his megalomanic view
of himself as an historic figure who had to get re-elected at any cost, but he
didn't enrich himself at all or his buddies much. There was a scandal involving
something like $50,000 in contributions from the milk industry, and his
Vice-President was brought down by bribes he'd started taking as a minor state
official. Serious felonies of course, but by today's standards, barely a
rounding error.
Think about it. The ONLY consistent theme in his
administration is whatever enriches his crime family. He'll betray
conservatives, Christians, and all of America to that simple principle.
All Presidential
power comes from Article 2 of our Constitution, enacted in 1789. When the chief executive of a republic assumes "all powers necessary" during time of war, traditionally the title changes. During the Roman Republic, an "Imperator" was selected to wield whatever power was necessary until the enemy was defeated. "Imperator" comes down to us through the ages as the title "Emperor".
On the other hand, the Caesar family of Roman assumed Imperial power so thoroughly that its name, Caesar, became almost synonymous with Emperor. "Caesar" comes down to us as the title "Kaisar" or "King".
So which title is most appropriate for an American President who claims unlimited power as Commander in Chief in Time of War?
Caesar? Kaiser? King? or Emperor? - 3/12/06
By the 4th chapter of the statutes made at Trim, 23 Hen. VI. (A. D. 1447) it was enacted, "that if any were found with their upper lips unshaven by the space of a fortnight, it might be lawful for any man to take them and their goods as Irish enemies, and to ransom them ..." If mustaches are outlawed, only outlaws will have mustaches! - 3/11/06
Morality In Government"Morality in government means more than a mere absence of wrongdoing.
"I think it is just as immoral for the Congress to enact special tax favors into law as it is for a tax official to connive in a crooked tax return.
"It is just as immoral to use the lawmaking power of the Government to enrich the few at the expense of the many, as it is to steal money from the public treasury. " ... President Harry S. Truman, March 29, 1952

Bluenecks:
New Political CategoryA Blueneck is a Redneck who got screwed blue by Bush.
For example, our troops. A lot of them were proud rednecks but Iraq is making them blue.
Then there's the citizens of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana are discovering how little the Bush Crime Family really cares about them. And here's an article about Toby Keith & Faith Hill who may turn into bluenecks any day: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2006/03/09/hill-mcgraw-lash-out-at-_n_17021.html
What we got here is a rebirth of old-fashioned American populism. We come in all colors: Red, White and Blue but for too long we let the criminals in the White House divide us over stupid stuff. Now that our great nation is in danger from their criminality and incompetence, let us join together: welcome home y'all! -3/9/06
Remember Katherine Harris ...
the Bush/2000 campaign official who used her public office to stop the counting
of votes in Florida? She was rewarded with a seat in the House of
Representatives from which she launched a bid for the Senate. But it seems that
she couldn't resist taking a bribe ...

The owner of the company (MZM) admitted in federal court that he gave $32,000 in illegal campaign donations to Harris. In March 2004, at a private dinner in Washington, D.C., Wade and Harris talked about "obtaining funding and approval" for a Navy counterintelligence program. After that dinner meeting, Harris put in a $10 million budget request to the Defense Appropriations subcommittee to fund the project. Days later, an employee in Harris' congressional office went to work for Wade at MZM. Federal investigators have said that Wade never told Harris that the 16 checks of $2,000 each in the name of MZM employees and their spouses were obtained illegally, but the timing of the money in exchange for the favor would excite the suspicion of anyone with a conscience.
Harris's comment: "There is nothing to it except for the press trying to be negative."
What have we learned from this?
That criminals should stick to their
specialty! Either fix elections or take bribes; if you try to do both,
you'll stumble! - 03/04/06
(Meanwhile, in Florida, lobbyists are suing for the right to continue bribing officials: http://www.bradenton.com/mld/bradenton/news/local/13891988.htm and http://roblimo.com/node/view/89 )
"
...
There are men of ambition so depraved, who would rejoice to be called wicked, if
with that they could appear what the corruptions of the world, and the servility
of historians, have denominated GREAT.
"But these same men would never have courage to consummate their crimes, were they taught that these crimes would render them contemptible, and still more, ridiculous."

We now know:
I don't mind being lied to so much as having my intelligence insulted. In the old days, Presidents knew how to lie. LBJ's story about the Gulf of Tonkin last for decades. Nixon's lies took years to unravel.
Bush's lies evaporate in days.
Where is the quality? Where is the pride in workmanship?
We have the best technology, the most expensive military, and the best-funded public relations apparatus in the world, so why can't we have better presidential lies?
